Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries apparently doesn’t know that aliens living in this country illegally are not law-abiding.
In an appearance on ABC’s The View on Monday, the clueless New York Congressman claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are “going after law-abiding immigrant families.”
These so-called “law-abiding” families are undocumented or, in other words, illegal, and they are here in violation of U.S. federal law. They are felons.
When asked by co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin about Democrats’ calls to, once again, defund the police and target ICE, Jeffries appeared to signal support for defunding ICE, which he accused of “overly aggressive behavior,” and claimed that the American people did not vote for mass deportations.
“It’s not what the American people actually, in my view, voted for,” Jeffries said. “Donald Trump and Republicans promised to go after violent felons. But instead, they’re going after law-abiding immigrant families.”

Alyssa Farrah-Griffin: Some Democrats, amid the criticisms of ICE right now to do these ICE raids have started calling for defunding ICE. Do you think that that’s effective going into the midterms, and do you support those calls?
Jeffries: Well, I definitely think that we need aggressive oversight as it relates to the overly aggressive behavior that we’ve seen, you know, from ICE, from the Department of Homeland Security. It’s not what the American people actually, in my view, voted for. Donald Trump and Republicans promised to go after violent felons. But instead, they’re going after law-abiding immigrant families, and in fact, in some cases, deporting American citizens and children–some with cancer. America is better than this, and that’s the reality.
In terms of what House Democrats stand for, we believe that in this country, you work hard and you play by the rules, you should be able to experience the American dream. You should be able to afford to live the good life. And we believe that that’s a good paying job, good healthcare, good housing, good education for your children, and a good retirement. And a good retirement, by the way, means keep your hands off of Social Security and Medicare.
The American people voted for the largest deportation operation in U.S. history, including the so-called noncriminal aliens, the farm workers, the hospitality workers, the families, and children who were smuggled or trafficked across the border. What the American people did not vote for is what Jeffries and the Democrats are trying to push Trump to pass, which is amnesty for farm and hospitality workers.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump on Thursday revealed that legislation is being drafted to apparently grant amnesty to some illegal aliens in the agriculture and hospitality industries while speaking in Des Moines, Iowa. The President actually called his supporters who would oppose this proposal “serious radical right people.”
And now, rumors are swirling that the President is being pressured to sign a bipartisan mass amnesty deal to grant amnesty for 25 million+ people who are in our country illegally.
Hopefully, the President doesn’t cave to the pressure from radical Democrats to allow people to live and work in the United States illegally.
