President Trump signed a proclamation and ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday in honor of the victims in the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting on Wednesday morning.
Flags on the White House lawns and the White House roof were lowered to half-staff. The order will remain in effect until sunset on August 31, 2025.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, a transgender gunman opened fire, shooting through the windows of the church at Annunciation Catholic School as students attended mass during the first week of the school year. His manifesto was posted to YouTube before the shooting, and it was revealed that he wrote “kill Donald Trump” on one of his guns.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that the shooter, a male in his early 20s, opened fire on children as they attended mass at the school, killing at least two children and injuring 14 children and three adults. Police say he was armed with three guns: a rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun.
President Trump responded in the aftermath of the shooting:
I have been fully briefed on the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene. The White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation. Please join me in praying for everyone involved!
The President also spoke to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a White House official confirmed shortly after noon.
The proclamation reads,
As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on August 27, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, August 31, 2025. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-seventh day of August, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.
