Emory University in Atlanta announced there was an active shooter on their campus Friday afternoon.

As Fox News notes, Emory College of Arts and Sciences, the primary undergraduate division of Emory University, has more than 5,700 students.
Rapid gunshots are currently being fired as a total lockdown has been issued to the students.

Video footage captured on social media appears to show an active police presence around the campus.

Photos show bullet holes at CDC headquarters. It’s unclear whether the shooter targeted the building or it was caught in the crossfire during a shootout.

UPDATE: FOX 5 Atlanta confirmed one police officer was shot and taken to the hospital while responding to the scene. Another civilian was injured and also transported to the hospital.
UPDATE 2: Fox 5 Atlanta has confirmed the shooter is dead. It’s unclear right now whether they were shot by authorities or took their own life.
UPDATE 3: CNN confirms the injured officer has died.
