Colorado’s Gun Ban Is a Personal Attack on Our Rights

On April 10, 2025, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 25-003, a gut-punch to every law-abiding gun owner. Starting August 2026, this outrageous law clamps down on buying semiautomatic firearms—AR-15s, tactical shotguns, and certain handguns—demanding a state permit, 12 hours of training, and a background check. Current owners are spared, and fixed-magazine guns get a pass, but make no mistake: this is a deliberate assault on our freedom. As a Coloradan, I’m furious, and you should be too.
This law spits in the face of the Second Amendment, which declares our right to bear arms “shall not be infringed.” Colorado’s bureaucrats have no authority to turn my constitutional birthright into a permission slip. Worse, the Fourteenth Amendment demands equal protection under the law. The state cannot strip us of rights that folks in Florida or Texas enjoy freely. It’s unconstitutional and unfair—Coloradans deserve the same freedoms as every American. Our legislators must protect our rights, not trample them.
SB25-003’s red tape, enforced by an underfunded Colorado Parks and Wildlife, smells like a gun registry waiting to be abused. Despite 95% of testifiers at a March 2025 hearing begging lawmakers to stop, they ignored us. The federal government must step in—now. Congress and the courts have a duty to crush this law, citing Bruen and other rulings that slap down gun grabs. Our rights aren’t negotiable.
I’m calling on every patriot to demand action. Flood Congress, back groups like the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, and vote out the traitors who passed this. The feds must guarantee our Second Amendment protections before Colorado’s betrayal spreads. We won’t stand for this.
