BREAKING: Kentucky State Trooper Shot, Multiple Victims Injured in Lexington Church Shooting; Suspect Dead | The Gateway Pundit

A suspect shot a Kentucky State Police trooper in Kentucky before fleeing to a nearby church, where additional shootings left multiple people injured on Sunday.

The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident began at approximately 11:36 a.m. local time when the suspect shot the trooper during an encounter in Fayette County.

The suspect then fled and arrived at Richmond Road Baptist Church in a rural part of Lexington, where Kentucky State Police and Lexington Police Department officers confronted him.

Multiple injured victims were reported at the church. An injured officer was transported to a hospital for medical care.

The identities and conditions of the victims have not been publicly released.

Authorities have also not released the suspect’s cause of death, the exact number of victims, or any motive for the shootings.

Governor Andy Beshear issued a statement regarding the incident in a series of posts on X.

Beshear wrote:

Kentucky, we are aware of a series of incidents in Lexington around one suspect, including a trooper-involved shooting and an additional shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church with multiple injuries. The trooper and others are being treated at a nearby hospital.

Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let’s give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police. Details are still emerging, and we will share more information as available.
