Say NO to CBDCs!
The American people are united in their unequivocal opposition to Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), and the recent introduction of the Generating Exceptional National Innovation and Uplifting Success (GENIUS) Act is a critical step toward safeguarding our financial freedom. I write to urge you to support this legislation and to reject any attempts to impose CBDCs, which threaten the privacy, autonomy, and economic security of every citizen.
The GENIUS Act, introduced by Representatives Matt Gaetz and Ro Khanna, represents a bold stand against the creeping threat of CBDCs. This bipartisan legislation aims to block the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC directly to individuals, ensuring that our financial system remains free from centralized control and surveillance. The American people are not fooled by claims that CBDCs are a benign tool for economic stability. We see them for what they are: a dangerous mechanism for government overreach, enabling unprecedented tracking of every transaction and the potential weaponization of money against dissenting voices.
The risks of CBDCs are stark and undeniable. A fully digital currency controlled by the Federal Reserve could expose our economy to catastrophic cyber threats, where a single hack could cripple the nation’s financial infrastructure. Worse, CBDCs would hand the government a surveillance apparatus straight out of a dystopian nightmare, allowing it to monitor and control how citizens spend their money. Imagine a future where your ability to buy groceries or pay rent could be restricted based on your political views or social behavior—this is the reality CBDCs invite. The people will not stand for it.
Public sentiment, as evidenced by countless discussions on platforms like X, is overwhelmingly against CBDCs. Americans value their financial privacy and reject the notion of a government-controlled digital wallet. States like Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee have already taken decisive action by introducing or passing anti-CBDC legislation, recognizing that CBDCs are not a solution to inflation or economic instability but a direct threat to liberty. The GENIUS Act builds on this momentum, reinforcing that the Federal Reserve has no business issuing digital currencies that could erode the very freedoms this nation was founded upon.
I call on you to champion the GENIUS Act and to oppose any legislation or policy that paves the way for CBDCs. The Central Bank Digital Currency Anti-Surveillance State Act, introduced by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, complements these efforts by explicitly prohibiting “intermediated CBDCs” that could be manipulated by authoritarian regimes or overreaching governments. These bills are not mere suggestions—they are urgent demands from a populace that refuses to sacrifice its autonomy.
The American people are watching. We demand that you act swiftly to protect our financial sovereignty and reject CBDCs outright. Support the GENIUS Act, stand against the surveillance state, and uphold the principles of freedom and privacy that define our nation. Anything less is a betrayal of the trust we have placed in you.
