St. Philip Neri

St. Philip Neri was born in 1515 in Florence, Italy. As a young man, he was known for his joyful personality and deep love for God, qualities that only grew stronger as he matured. Moving to Rome, Philip dedicated himself to caring for the sick, the poor, and pilgrims. He eventually became a priest, founding the Congregation of the Oratory, a community of priests committed to prayer, preaching, and serving the people. Famous for his lively sense of humor and his ability to attract people of all backgrounds, Philip used joy and friendliness to draw others to Christ. His simple yet powerful approach to evangelization made him one of the most beloved saints of the Counter-Reformation. He died in 1595, leaving a legacy of holiness built on cheerfulness, humility, and sincere love for souls.
