Through her patience, prayer, and kindness, Rita eventually converted his heart before he was murdered in a local conflict. After the deaths of her husband and two sons, she pursued her childhood dream and was accepted into the Augustinian convent at Cascia. There, Rita lived a life of deep prayer, penance, and charity. She became known for her devotion to Christ’s Passion and for receiving a wound on her forehead, mirroring Christ’s crown of thorns. St. Rita died in 1457 and is honored today as a powerful intercessor in difficult and seemingly impossible situations.
