Leave it to Kamala Harris to blame Donald Trump for her decision to deny a job to a gay man. Yes, it might be surprising to use the word "homophobic" to describe America’s first black/South Asian/female vice-president, a Californian who grew up surrounded by extreme progressivism, with a strong claim to being the wokest candidate ever to have had a shot at reaching the White House. But what else do you call it when Harris effectively admits that she refused to choose Pete Buttigieg, the former US transport secretary, as her running mate because he is gay?
